Fall Season Skin Care Tips ...

Fall can be very demanding when it comes to our skin. Here in the Central Valley Fall season can turn the air dry and cool leaving you with potentially damaged dry skin.
Remember to replace gel or lotion-based moisturizers I suggest Skin Script products (Acai Berry Antioxidant -This moisturizer provides incredible hydration leaving the skin feeling very soft. Antioxidants protect from environmental damage while relieving the surface signs of aging. Co-Q10 stimulates collagen to minimize fine lines), (Ageless Skin Moisturizer, with Aloe and Co-Q10 -Hydrate and protect your skin with the healing benefits of aloe; Co-Q10 stimulates collagen and tightens the elastin in the skin), (Hydrating Moisturizer (Day & Night Moisturizer) - Hydrate and protect skin with the healing benefits of shea butter. Seaweed binds moisture within the skin while aloe soothes, calms and provides hydration. Rose Hip strengthens capillaries and soothes inflamed skin. It promotes deep hydration that protects from environmental damage while relieving the surface signs of aging), (Light Aloe Moisturizer - This ultra light moisturizer hydrates and protects oily and blemished skin. It is very important to lightly hydrate even oily skin. Lack of hydration will result in excess production from the oil glands). Around this time of year, you should introduce your skin to a lighter SPF such as Skin Script Sheer Protection SPF 30 - This is a light, sheer feeling sunblock that provides both UVA/UVB protection for all skin types. 13.5% zinc oxide - all natural, no chemicals.
Many people wait until their skin is dry and cracked before they think to apply lotion to it.
The ideal time to begin moisturizing is before the moisture is lost. At the first sign of cooler weather your routine should change for your BODY SKIN CARE I suggest the following: From Senegence: Body Wash -A rich, foaming gel that gently cleanses without stripping skin of essential oils. SeneDerm Body Wash with SenePlex Complex contains aloe to soothe and condition while restoring pH balance. Formulated with loads of humectants, it helps to restore moisture - while in or out of the shower. Body Scrub - Body Scrub with SenePlex Complex is gentle, highly effective and made for all skin types. Exfoliating is important to keep skin smooth and allow for better moisture absorption. Formulated with vitamin E, Shea Butter, Coco Butter and Coconut oil it gently polishes and exfoliates leaving skin softened and soothed.
Unscented Body Lotion - SeneDerm Body Lotion is packed with the anti-aging benefits of SenePlex Complex. Formulated with plenty of humectants and botanicals, it helps to quench skin and prevent moisture loss throughout the day. Jojoba promotes healing and discourages microbial bacteria on skin's surface and last but not least;
SeneDerm Hand Cream - Our hands require extra care to balance, maintain and seal in moisture. SeneDerm Hand Cream is packed with emollient rich Shea Butter to soothe and botanicals to protect skin, but leaves no greasy feeling behind. A little goes a long way as it 'reactivates' with water and rubbing throughout the day.
As you age you will find that your skin reacts more quickly to environmental changes. It produces less natural oils and becomes drier quicker. You may find that you need to apply a moisturizer to exposed areas several times a day and use a richer cream such as one containing shea butter, with this said you can find these great products suggestions at: ESTHETICS BY BARBARA at 1040 Geer Rd., Turlock, inside Dynasty Salon.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL vs. OTC PRODUCTS ?

Allow me to clear certain questions that I hear from clients now and in the past.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE between Professional and OTC products?  The comparisons come down to the old cliche, "You get what you pay for."  This is all true in life, and especially when it comes to pricing beauty products.  Let's not forget that the price for both retail outlets and professional are highly determined bu three things; the amount of marketing, the quality and percentage of ingredients and the presence or absence of professional recommendations.

OTC, stands for products sold at: drug stores, discounts stores, department sores, grocery stores, through multilevel sales and on the Internet and they are all sold without recommendations from trained professionals. many of these spend great amounts in all  forms of promotions to convince the public to purchase their products.  They also spend great deal of money in packaging of higher-priced products, to visually confirm the worth of the product and the claim in their ads to potential clients.

PROFESSIONAL. products line puts its money where it will most benefit the clients-in quality and results-producing ingredients, and in training professionals like me to recommend the correct products to our clients based on their skin needs.  Promotion is NOT the major expense of a professional product company.

QUALITY and PERCENTAGE of Ingredients ... As yourself how effective is your OTC products? Is your condition gone for GOOD? or Does your condition reappears soon after you stop using the products?  When you look at this logically, the answer is actually very simple: How can a product have high percentages of quality, results-producing ingredients, but be sold at a low price in discount stores, off grocery store shelves, or in multilevel sales companies?

KEEP THIS IN MIND ... A professional product from a company that does not spend heavily on promotion will be able to use much higher quality, results-producing ingredients that a department-store product of the same price.

Compare them directly and the professional product will prove to be the best choice.
